Western Lakes Golf Club Wedding in Pewaukee, Wisconsin: Kristin + Bryce
Just two short months ago, I was standing in the bridal suite of our wedding venue, holding my beautiful bouquet of flowers, with all my favorite ladies standing around me, anticipating the moment I was going to see my best friend and forever partner in life at the end of the aisle. The love and happiness felt that day was something I can’t compare to anything else I’ve ever experienced. It was truly the highest of highs. We received our photos back last week, and it was like reliving the day all over again. I want to share a few highlights from our day with you all!
First, I will share a bit about Bryce & my love story…
Bryce and I met back in May of 2014 at a sports bar in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. My friends and I were out to see one of our favorite country cover bands and Bryce stayed past his work’s happy hour to check out the tunes! Bryce approached my friends and I shortly after we walked in and I could tell almost immediately there was something special about him. We danced the night away and went out on our first date just a few days later. I had never been with someone I could be completely myself around and quickly realized this relationship was something very special. Bryce and I loved going on new adventures together and we spent the next three years exploring the city, traveling, and just goofing around with one another. Bryce proposed on May 14th, 2017, and the moment was ever so perfectly, “us”. We had spent our evening going for a walk, making dinner, and catching up on some of our favorite TV shows. I was in the bathroom taking out my contacts, and as I walked towards the vanity to grab my glasses, Bryce caught me completely off guard by being down on one knee. Somewhere between the hugs, kisses, and crying, I said “YES!” and we officially decided to spend the rest of our lives laughing, loving, and adventuring together!
The fifteen months between that day and our wedding absolutely flew and I loved every moment of planning our day. On our wedding day, my soon-to-be husband and I started our day just like any other, except for the fact that we woke up around 3 AM bubbling with excitement and anticipation for what the day ahead had in store. With no luck falling back asleep, we got up, let the dogs out, made our favorite breakfast, loaded up the car with all of our wedding goodies, and made a stop at our favorite local coffee shop. I was so grateful to spend the morning with Bryce and start one of the most important days of our lives together.
As soon as we arrived at the venue, everything started to feel real. I got settled in the bridal suite as all of my ladies started to arrive and we spent the day laughing, primping, and drinking mimosas.
Oh, and of course here are some snapshots of my handsome husband getting all suited up for the big day!!
One of my favorite parts of the day was taking a moment to myself amidst all the commotion and reading the letter Bryce had written for me on our wedding day (made sure to do this before I had my makeup done!!). It was such a special moment to get away and focus on the true meaning behind why we were all there that day.
Both our ceremony and reception took place at Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
The weather was beautiful and we were able to have our ceremony outside, overlooking the golf course. We had a bit of a nontraditional wedding party. Instead of having bridesmaids and groomsmen, we gave special roles for each person we wanted to include in our day. We had a Maid of Honor, Best Man, two Flower Girls, two Ushers, a Ring Bearer, and two “Party Managers”, who were in charge of speaking and keeping the party going during the reception! Another special touch to our ceremony was that Bryce’s sister was our officiant.
Right after the ceremony our guests went up for cocktail hour and we went off to take photos with family and our wedding party.
We then got to share some time with just the two of us (and our photographer of course), as we ventured around the golf course and found the PERFECT tree to take our bride & groom portraits under.
After our photos, we headed up to meet our guests and get ready for the grand entrance and start of our reception! Our first dance is one of my favorite memories from our wedding day 😍 We actually choreographed our dance to represent the night we met. Bryce sitting by the bar, me walking in, him asking me to dance, and the two of us boogieing the night away! It was so much fun and there was no better way to start our life as husband and wife than this!!
The reception was a blast - listening to heartfelt and funny speeches, spending time with all our closest family & friends, eating delicious food and cupcakes, and busting epic dance moves.
Our wedding day was beautiful, and the memories will last for the rest of our lives!!
