Kristin's Journey to Natural Elegance: Meet the Owner and Lead Wedding Planner

Hello there!

Welcome to the Natural Journal! A place where readers can indulge in the love stories of our clients’ real weddings, find creative inspiration, follow along with my journey as a new business owner, and learn tips and trends for weddings and events. Before we dive into all those juicy topics, I thought I would focus this first post on letting my new readers get to know me and my journey a little better!

In short, I’d definitely consider myself a girly girl who loves shopping and is attracted to most everything pink and sparkly. I like to spend as much time as I can with family and friends, dance my butt off, travel to small islands with beautiful beaches, and create delicious baked treats in the kitchen! I also have a huge soft spot for this place we call home, Milwaukee. Exploring the city with my husband is one of my absolute favorite past times (particularly venturing to get a delicious coffee or a bangin’ cocktail). Any other city we visit, just doesn’t compare to the hometown feel of it here. I love the views, people, restaurants, and overall vibe of Milwaukee and can’t wait to use it as the backdrop for making memories for my clients.

My background is actually a little out of the ordinary for someone starting a wedding planning business. I went to school for Accounting (that’s right, I’m a math nerd!). Being meticulous, extremely organized, and detail oriented are skills that were perfect for this career and I knew those were some of my strongest traits. I’m also without question, a natural born organizer. Growing up, I spent grocery trips with my Mom making sure all the bags of rice and boxes of hamburger helper were *perfectly* aligned on the shelves. Even though these skills helped me greatly as an Accountant, I knew I had pushed aside some of my other passions while I earned my degree and started my career in that field. Then, about three and a half years ago, I decided to take my first leap in pursuing one of my passions and I became a Zumba® Fitness instructor! It was SO out of my comfort zone and to this day, one of the best choices I ever made. I love teaching and the joy I see each class on my students’ faces is truly my stress release throughout the week!

The past year has been filled with a lot of changes in my life. We bought and renovated a new home, moved and sold our old home, had multiple health scares within our family, and got MARRIED! 😍 Going through all these life changes in a few short months made me reflect even more on my life and where I wanted it to go.

Being a wedding and event planner was always that “pipe dream” I held in the back of my mind, and as I started to brainstorm things I wanted to do with my life, this career came to the forefront. The idea of starting my own business was a scary one, but with the support of my husband, family, and friends, I decided to take another big jump and become a business owner. Natural Elegance LLC was created around the pursuit of a passion and I plan to use that passion and drive to put together beautiful and elegant events for our clients.
